etc.etc.

the use of men amounts to the usefulness of a muse.

currently: buying a face mask.

Please Mr. Postman - The Marvelettes

I wonder what "modern" music will be considered "oldies" when I have kids. What will current "oldies" be called? Will they all just be forgotten, or written into sort of music history books?

Maybe future anthropologists will use them as ancient relics to dissect and interpret the "age of technology". But how will they do that when no one buys music [physical copies] anymore. In a million years will the world just collapse on itself and revert back to a world full of paper, a world without bluetooth, and dare i say..without *internet!? A new dark age perhaps? IF there were to be a new dark age, what kind of renaissance would follow? Do we just start from scratch, or start from the last place we stopped and go from there? Future scientists won't have physical representations of anything humans have accomplished, or thought, or created. I am convinced though that despite that we will find new ways to become even more removed from reality..

*(dnt ever leave me]

We went to Haight to go see The Grouch perform...BUT

we missed it. typical of us. very typical.

tomorrow we are going back to see Cold War Kids.

I want to start taking personal pictures, not for facebook use, just to like have, like why people used to take pictures in the first place...I always avoid bringing my camera anywhere because I am not very photogenic *wamp wamp*.

seriously, you are pretty greasy. take a shower.

I cannot accept that we grow as we get older, and that our bodies are just not meant to be as small as they were say a year ago...I WON'T ACCEPT THAT.

None of my old summer shorts fit anymore, I am feeling kinda thick...so I am going to workout and make an eating/diet plan or whatever, and no this is not a pro-ana post, just bordering on one.

I also need to remember to take my vitamins, especially my "hair, skin, and nails" and "vitamin c" and did you know that drinking aloe vera juice can aid in weight loss? I did, because Malone told me about the miracle drink she discovered one summer in Mexico. I just bought some. Test driving it.

I am going to try to buckle down this week and finish one of my final essays. It is a comparative essay on the environments and socioeconomic conditions of three different African-American novelists, and how their upbringing has shaped their views and opinions about the oppression of their race in America.

Also, is it worth it to buy AppleCare? My macbook has been kinda janky lately, and my ichat/photobooth/other apps have had to force quit/not respond. Should i be concerned?

just sayin, jew know?

I really like the intro to "My Dick" by Mickey Avalon..and yes, I am embarrassed.

I want to marry Devendra Banhart, not because I like his music, but because he looks like a foreign Dave Grohl. And not because I like the Foo Fighters just because he is hot. yah, that's really all it is.

I wonder what Miles Davis would have said about Lady Gaga.

I always cry when I hear people singing spirituals, or whenever I watch a movie about the Black civil rights movement. It makes my "Power to the People" class very uncomfortable at times. I secretly hope he noticed once and thought that I (as a white person) wasn't all that bad and ignant.

I wish more people (white people) realized how much of "our" music was stolen from the minds and talents of Black musicians and people.

I hate Asher Roth. He makes me hate my generation, and white males EVEN more, didn't know it was possible.

I really like listening to "This American Life" on NPR, with my dad.

I really like my dad. I feel guilty that my family is so amazing.

it is 6 am.

I am finally out of my weed-coma and ALIVE!

Possible early morning activities:

-Walk around Lake Merced, possibly the beach?

-Smoke moar.*

-Go workout in the gym, right when it opens.

-Finish reading homework... :/ bleh.

-Eat yogurt and watch The View*

-Buy some much needed sunscreen and aloe vera (sp?).

-Re-organize my closet.

-Make coffee?

* most likely to be followed through with.

The View doesn't start till 10 so I have some time to blog. Each time I see my sister we always have a time retelling old flashback memories and trying to put them into context. She puts more into context then I, but hulahey, here we go.

Escape to Witch Mountain-1975 (the original. wtf @ Dwayne Johnson in the re-make)

This movie is pretty damn boring. i have no idea why we liked it so much...Oh wait, they had a fucking AWESOME toy room. And they had telekinesis, that confused the hail out of me when i was little.

Sister Act II (yes, the second one, lauryn hill.)

This movie is probably why I accepted when Whoopi took over for Ro on The View. I love this movie, its soundtrack (love gospel music ((with r&b flair))), its young cast. The song "Oh Happy Day" (sung by that young gentleman pictured above) was stuck in and out of my head from the years 1994-present.

First Wives Club (most influential film of my life)

This movie made Alison want to be Diane Keaton when she grew up, and myself: Bette Midler. (I could write an entire blog on the queen Bette Midler) This movie is probably what made me such a feminist?

And this scene. Three major female stars, all in the same number, singing Lesley Gore. Could anything be more inspiring for a young girl??

This next one made Alison hate cartoons, especially anime forever.

Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland

This movie is woaaahhh.

its official.

i was laying in bed, listening to my sleep playlist and allowed my mind to wander and (day?)dream, u know the kind. in the wee hours of the 'morn i always allow myself to conjure up these amazing, yet fictional, scenes where i get what i want because i lay it all "on the line."

i was actually about to act on this fantasy, and thank GOD i pussed out and saved myself from awful internet embarrassment, u know the kind.

i am officially crazy, and all of my interpretations of other people's actions are probably (definitely) one sided.

le sigh.

but then i think, who knows?

maybe.they.arn't?

This. Everything that is fucked up about our world. Fucking Susan Boyle, thank you for shedding light on all of our contradictions. I love you.
